Riker Hill Art Park artist Gerard Amsellem Presents Frere’. This show honors the memory of his brother, artist Alain Amsellem on the 10th anniversary of his passing.

The Visual Passion Duo Live Painting at 1978 Arts Center

On Saturday July 9, 2016, Mikel and Gerard will be doing a live, large scale work in conjunction with Off the Shelf: A Tribute to June Cater at 1978 Maplewood Arts Center, 1978 Springfield Ave., Maplewood, NJ.

It will be a collage/painting called "The Passing 2."

We will be painting beginning at 2pm and continue throghout the day until around 6pm.

Maplewood Memorial Library Exhibition and Opening

Gerard and Mikel will be exhibiting work created together at Maplewood Memorial Library from July 3 to August 28, 2016. The opening reception for the artists is Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 7pm to 8pm. Come see us and say hello and look at our work.

Art & Film: Van Gogh

On January 23, 2016   POSTPONED ON DUE TO WEATHER*

The Visual Passion Duo will present a full day seminar on Vincent Van Gogh. The seminar will begin at 11:00 am with a PowerPoint presentation. This presentation will go into the life, times and art of Van Gogh. Then there will be a break for lunch with a light lunch included in the ticket price. At 2:00 pm we will screen the film, Van Gogh, a 1991 French film written and directed by Maurice Pialat. It stars Jacques Dutronc in the role of Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, for which he won the 1992 César Award for Best Actor. Set in 1890, the film follows the last 67 days of Van Gogh's life and explores his relationships with his brother Theo, his physician Paul Gachet (most famous as the subject of Van Gogh's painting, Portrait of Dr. Gachet), and the women in his life, including Gachet's daughter, Marguerite.

*SPECIAL UPDATE: THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS ON SAT. JAN. 23. AS SOON AS WE CAN SETTLE ON A DATE, IT WILL BE POSTED HERE AND IN OTHER PLACES TOO. 

There will be a Q & A/discussion after the screening. All taking place at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) in The Loft on the third floor. Ticket information will be coming soon.
